Jed Bhuta has broad federal legislative experience in both the private sector and public sector. In the public sector, Jed worked as a staffer in the United States Senate, a senior staffer in the United States House of Representative and in federal affairs for a federal agency. Jed also has considerable private sector experience, with time spent lobbying at a bipartisan consulting firm, in-house at a major corporation and at a trade association. His dynamic experience gives him a unique understanding of the federal political landscape.
Most recently, Jed worked for a Washington, D.C.-based bipartisan consulting firm, providing counsel for clients across several industries. Prior to that, Jed held the position of Director of Federal Affairs at General Motors, where he managed a vast portfolio of issues spanning telecommunications, technology, transportation, healthcare, tax and financial services. As a lead for General Motors’ legislative efforts, Jed successfully navigated a layered and complex political landscape to achieve favorable legislative outcomes for the company.
Prior to his tenure at General Motors, Jed advocated on behalf of energy and environmental issues as Director of Legislative Affairs for America’s Natural Gas Alliance (ANGA) and as Manager of Government Relations for the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Jed’s Capitol Hill experience includes positions with Senator Bill Nelson (FL), Congressman John Tanner (TN), and Congressman Heath Shuler (NC), where he served as Legislative Director.
